Tracy Gest
Hamilton High School's own Miss Wisconsin, Tracy Gest, has qualified for the Miss America contest, which will be held Jan. 21 in Las Vegas.
The 20-year-old Gest, who graduated from Hamilton in 2003, won the Miss Wisconsin title June 25 in Oshkosh from a field of 23 contestants on her first attempt.

She also won the preliminary swimsuit contest earlier in the year, and plans to use her 12 years' experience playing piano in the talent portion of the Miss America pageant.

Now a junior at Carroll College in Waukesha, she still lives in Menomonee Falls with her parents, Tammy and Edward Gest.

She left for Las Vegas yesterday and is scheduled to appear on Jay Leno's "Tonight Show" on Jan. 10.

The Miss America pageant will be televised from the Aladdin Resort in Las Vegas on the Country Music cable channel. This year is the first time in the competition's 84-year history that it has not been held in Atlantic City.
